OCR Technology
BizCardReader incorporates the latest
technology in OCR, image processing, and field identification to read and identify the
information on business cards.
The system has an OCR engine that is pre-trained to recognize and interpret a wide variety
of font types on business cards. After reading the text information using OCR, the system
uses its multi-national intelligent field identification engine to correctly place the
text data into appropriate fields such as Name, Title, Company, and Address fields.
The combination of advanced image processing, accurate OCR, and a multi-national
intelligent field identification engine yields an optimum system for scanning and filing
business cards.

Database
Last Name Format
BizCardReader automatically extracts the last name of the contact you scan into the
database. You can optionally set the database to sort and display the contacts by the last
name.
Auto Index
An auto index tabs on the bottom of the address book automatically sorts cards in
alphabetical order. You can selectively sort the database on any field, such as name,
company, title, or address.
Search on any Field
You can search on any or all of the 15 available fields, including the Notes and Memo
fields.
Finding any card is easy with a search
engine that supports AND/OR logic. For example type "James OR Jim AND Michigan"
to quickly find an old friend in Michigan even if you can't recall his last name or
company.
Share Databases
BizCardReader Systems are available with multi-user license packages so you can
immediately share the card database with others in your office
Sharing database with other users on a network is easy - just place the folder containing
the database file onto a networked drive. Anyone who has access to the drive will be able
to retrieve both the text information as well as the card images. You can set password and
user access privileges to the database through your network security administration.

Text-to-Text Fields
You can move data between text fields with a simple click and drag action.
Image-to-Text Fields
You can even mark out a region containing information on the card image and drop it into a
text field. The OCR engine will automatically read the image data and convert it to text
for placement into the specified field.

Auto Dial :
You can select any contact and automatically dial the contact's phone number through the
modem.
Print Address Labels and Tables
:
You can easily print address labels to all or selected records from the database. Simply
select the label format, the fields to print, and the record list from the database; the
system will automatically generate a list of address labels, properly formatted.

TWAIN Compliant :
The BizCardReader 600c scanner is Twain compliant - so you can use the scanner to scan
cards and /or color photos into other Twain image editing and storage applications.
