The client is an Aviation sector
giant, with offices spread across the globe. The client recently moved from traditional
serial based applications for passenger reservation to new LAN based TCP/IP application.
REQUIREMENTS OF THE CLIENT
To give users LAN node to use for
transaction with the Unisys Host.
PROBLEMS FACED
The client could not replace all the
FEPs and Cluster Controllers in short time to upgrade all locations with LAN
SOLUTION OFFERED
Convergent Communications offered the
TCOP solution to carry the traditional serial P1024 and U100 protocols transparently.
BENEFITS FOR THE CLIENT
Reservation procedure has become
simple and the passengers are now given LAN node to use for transaction with the Unisys
Host.
